book 17!!! great news!

The coastal region of Coastoria! It's going to be a lot of fun. Already about 14,000 words in. I've got solid characters, and things for them to do! It's practically writing itself. Just some world building. So excited!!!!!!!!

11.27.2021 news. status of book #22, woohoo!

Wow it's been a long time since I updated this blog, sorry. Most of my news is posted on the patreon now. www.patreon.com/chancepaladin Long story short, is book #22 is in the works (28k words in!!), and it'll be the wrapup of the "PNW" portion of the series. There'll be more books post #22, but it'll be a long time before anymore of the big arc gets more than hinted at. More on that on the patreon site. PNW Affliction 1: Recycled - The Retrospective Alright. This's been a long time coming, and there's probably no real better place to start than at the beginning. Spoilers abound, although this's mostly "behind the story" type stuff. This book isn't actually the beginning of the story by any means. It's the beginning of the main character though, and it's how this whole "universe" got started. Basically I had a dream one night of walking and it getting progressively darker until there was no light left. Just like nearly every single one of my books, this started out with a basic premise. Really no more than a "first act" if you will. I wrote the first act, peppered in with some things that were real, like me having a cat that played with a plastic bag while I tried to sleep. I can't exactly remembered where the premise came from for act two, except that I've always been fascinated by recycling and the recycling logo. ...

Hi All. Book 22 is in the rear-view, and working on a very fun compilation, as well as super short stories (<1000 word stories) I call 'coffee stories' until I can find a new place and settle back down. (Replacing the content from the bunker tier on Patreon, with a lot higher, more consistent content. Posted here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/chancepaladin Patreon was taking way too much $, so I started a new site on 'coffee' link below. Putting the 'coffee' stories on there, which are typically under 1000 words and will be exclusive for the year I wrote them in. Then the next year they'll be exclusive to print. They're way less stress for me to write these tiny stories, as they take only about 45 min a piece, instead of days a piece in the case of a short story, or months in the case of a novel.
