9/5/2018 update

Free book weekend went good. Gave away 36 more books between book #1 and book #5.

Slowly working on book #14 and 15 at the same time. I hate it when this happens. I still don't have a tablet I can type on to write books when I'm actually inspired so I have two spiral bound notebooks alternating between two stories. I decided to shelve part of 14 and make it into a standalone novel, the other part of 14 will focus on the core of the story I was trying to tell instead of running off with itself.

#13 just needs to be edited. I'm 3-4 books behind in my editing and half the people that've read my books only comment is, "I need an editor." If they only knew how much that would cost me. I have reached out to several publishers and the responses range to being ignored to flat out insulted at the sheer thought of it. You're apparently supposed to do the whole thing yourself, then hire someone who pitches your book or some nonsense, whatever. Wtf is the point of self publishing if you still have to deal with all of the same idiots and bureaucrats that strangle the situation to begin with.

Still amazes me there isn't a place for people who WANT TO READ BOOKS instead of authors competing with other authors for the author audience circle jerk. I also realize my books could be so much more, but since I can't write by sheer thought and I'm being pulled in 100 different ways, and nobody is actually encouraging me, 13, 14, 15 and the edits of 1, 2, 3, and 5. I guess I'll try to revisit them once per year.

Anyway 13 first write up is done I actually love it. I can't wait to do the edits. 14 is going to be hard to write, 15 is practically writing itself. This's happened at least 3 times now. Gotta jet, its late. take care.

PNW Affliction 1: Recycled - The Retrospective

PNW Affliction 1: Recycled - The Retrospective Alright. This's been a long time coming, and there's probably no real better place to start than at the beginning. Spoilers abound, although this's mostly "behind the story" type stuff. This book isn't actually the beginning of the story by any means. It's the beginning of the main character though, and it's how this whole "universe" got started. Basically I had a dream one night of walking and it getting progressively darker until there was no light left. Just like nearly every single one of my books, this started out with a basic premise. Really no more than a "first act" if you will. I wrote the first act, peppered in with some things that were real, like me having a cat that played with a plastic bag while I tried to sleep. I can't exactly remembered where the premise came from for act two, except that I've always been fascinated by recycling and the recycling logo. ...

Free Thanksgiving Weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving! Books #1, 10, and 12 are free this weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving as well as the release of book #13 and #15 by the end of the weekend. Skipping #14 for now because continuity is overrated. :D If the giveaway does well enough, I'll release a few more for free throughout the weekend, so we'll see. Stay tuned all weekend. Tell your friends please, without word-of-mouth nobody will know about the books if you enjoyed them. Thanks as always. Have a good time with family and then read free books! -Chance

Book #13 first draft is done

Hello All, I know it took forever, but I finally got the blog created. The first draft of book #13 is done, finally. I know it took forever. I've had these hiccups in the past. The only other one I remember as significant was #4 but I swear there was a second one I got stuck on for a bit. It was basically the same as this one. I had the first "act" written and knew where it needed to end up, but the entire middle part refused to coagulate in my brain. When it finally did, the darn book wrote itself within a few days and ended up being the longest book I'd written so far. Basically takes place in California during its collapse, which happens a while before the PNW Collapse. A brave studly man fights off cartels to find a distress signal he thinks came from a prior group that he accidentally inspired and now feels responsible for. So anyway, onto some nerd stats for book #13. It's a little over 30,400 words. According to Excel that puts it a little highe...
